eh

Originally from Dublin, Ireland. Moved to London and then Leeds, England, I now live in Toronto, Canada. Oh and now back again. Anyway, you can take the woman out of Ireland but, you know the rest. Basically the stuff on here will be the same no matter where I am. Ramblings and rantings about stuff, some from Canada. Some of them really do say 'eh' ~~~~~ "ascertaining the comprehension, continued interest, agreement, etc., of the person or persons addressed"

back by popular demand

I was going to post something here, honest.
It's been a bit of a week really.
Some bad stuff going on back home.
And with being on flood-alert here cuts in to the time I can tell you.
Not sure if it's a problem with the roof, the window or the gutters but when it rains (and boy, did it rain the other day) water pours in through the window frame in the middle bedroom, down the wall and eventually through the ceiling and into the living room.
Can you just picture the scene? Mr. eh has not yet been to bed after a night out buying drinks for all his new collegues and I've had about an hour sleep. Every towel in the house is soaking wet on the floor and still the rain keeps falling. After 45 minutes of mopping, wringing out towels, using everything in the laundry basket and rigging up a wicking system into a large bowl, the rain did finally stop. For a few hours anyway.....

elephants? outstanding

Before we moved to Canada some people warned us about bears, thinking that the whole of Canada is over-run with wild animals. Up to now all we have seen is lots of black squirrels and the family of raccoons living in the tree in our front garden (the four babies are getting pretty big now), but this story shows that nature is out there.
Imagine the scene, you are strolling down the street and there is an elephant eating someones tree in their front garden. 'Time to cut back on the booze' you think.

Read all about it here.
This website tells some of the story but this one even has the audio of the call to the police.Which you HAVE GOT to listen to. Like.

Tales of the George, part 1

The citizen has mentioned that we got a dog. That's him, George.

He is a small part of my reason for not blogging as he likes a lot of attention.

On a recent late-night walk (about 2.30am)we passed a group of about 5 lads. One of them looked at George and said 'Hello fluffster'.

I looked at the speaker, raised my eyebrows and said 'Fluffster?'

The guy, let's call him Gerald, replied ' I just took a wild guess'.

We walked on.

and finally....

Thanks to all those who have commented and joined in the movie quizzes.
I have not posted anything for ages.
Lot's of reasons.
Like for example, although you wouldn't know it, it takes me ages to come up with topics and then to actually write them is another age.
Also, it's largely shite.
but what the hell, I'll have another go at it.
