An unlikely truth
Al Gore was in town last night.
He was speaking at the University of Toronto. Tickets were available throught the university website for $20.
Or rather they weren't.
Demand for the tickets was so much that the website crashed and the tickets sold out in minutes.
One guy told the news reporter than he had paid $200 for each of his two tickets.
Read one of the articles here.
What's even more funny that Al Gore being treated like a superstar is the debate that has started up about wether or not he shoulsd run for president. This question was posed by The Toronto Star newspaper and some of the replies were, hmm, not sure what the word is....
judge for yourself here.
One of my favs was this- " If you like Al Gore so much, keep him. He is a natural for Socialist hand wringers like yourselves. Reynard McClusky, Orlando, Fla."
So that's what Americans think of Canadians.
Or one American in Florida anyway.

Amanda,
Remember Florida is a red state- or as the map was redrawn in one cartoon after the 2000 election part of Dumbf*ckistan.
Al Gore is fine and a lot of people have said that through the movie they have gotten to know him better but I don't think he will run (still stung from 2000).
Besides, my home state has given the country its next president----the rock star politican from the great state of Illinois---give it up for
BARACK OBAMA!!!
Taffy
they had a bit of a running joke at the idea of him running again at the oscars last night.
Barack is certainly looking good for it, even Oprah is for him.
