eh

Originally from Dublin, Ireland. Moved to London and then Leeds, England, I now live in Toronto, Canada. Oh and now back again. Anyway, you can take the woman out of Ireland but, you know the rest. Basically the stuff on here will be the same no matter where I am. Ramblings and rantings about stuff, some from Canada. Some of them really do say 'eh' ~~~~~ "ascertaining the comprehension, continued interest, agreement, etc., of the person or persons addressed"

Who do I see about a lawsuit?

They stole my idea!

Movie Theater's New 'Complaint' Button
(CBS 5 / AP) ANTIOCH Loud talking, chair kicking and other movie-theater annoyances may soon be a thing of the past, thanks to a new device similar to the flight attendant call button on airplanes.Moviegoers at the Regal Deer Valley Cinema complex are testing devices that will alert a theater employee when a fellow patron is behaving badly.Instead of searching the theater lobby for an employee or fuming silently, the "guest response system" enables people to subtly tell on their neighbors from the comfort of their own seats. One push of the transmitter's button, and help is on the way, said the theater's manager, Rob Lorello. The device works by sending a message to the pager of a theater employee once a button is pressed.Moviegoers can also use the system to alert staff if something is wrong with the sound or picture, or if someone is seen pirating the movie. The Regal Cinema theater is only testing the guest response system on the weekends, when there are big crowds. It is currently one of 10 nationwide trying out the device.

Well, ok, it's not as extreme as my idea, published here, November 14th
7. What is the appropriate punishment for people who answer cell phones in the movie theatre?Lifetime ban from all cinemas. When I Have My Own Cinema (a little daydream of mine) there will be a small keypad for regulars. This keypad will activate an electrical shock current in the seat of cell-phone users, talkers and people too stupid to follow the film on their own and feel the need to discuss every LITTLE THING.

The savoy cinema in Dublin tried using a mobile phone jammer during shows a few years ago, sounds like a good idea to me. Sadly some people objected to not being able to use a phone during a movie and lodged a complaint which was upheld.
So there you have it its 100% legal to use a mobile in a cinema in Ireland.

just down the street from me is a 100 year old cinema still using and arc-light projector. A friend of mine owns it and I'm going to a party there next week.
