It's all Greek to me
This is Alexander the Great Parkette. When I first came to Toronto and discovered 'Parkettes' for the first time, I found the word odd and funny. I'd never seen parkettes anywhere else in the world and wasn't sure what to make of the notion. A parkette is, as the name suggests, a small park, a park-ling, if you will. Usually just a patch of grass or a fountain with some benches.
Now of course, I think parkettes perfectly normal and reasonable.
Alexander the Great Parkette is for all seasons, a water fountain in summer and this 'fountain' in winter. I'm assuming that this:
is Greek for Merry Christmas.
Does anyone know any Greek?
